 Joe
Smith struck his first welding arc at the age of 10 and considers welding to be
one of the passions in his life. He paid for his education by working as a
welder and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and History, a well
as a diploma in Welding Engineering Technology from Northern College, graduating
with honors. Before joining Air Liquide, Joe
worked for a company that produces railway rolling stock and forestry equipment
as well as developing GTAW and PAW procedures on nuclear bellows.
His long career with Air Liquide started as a welding
technician and progressed to Technical Specialist, Quality Assurance Supervisor
(Filler Metals), Plant Manager (welding wires) and numerous other marketing and
field support roles in the welding sector.
Joe has been quite active as a speaker with the Institut
de Soudure (Quebec), the CWA, and the older Canadian Welding Society. He also
served on the CSA W48 filler metal committee. In March 2003 he was recognized as
a Group Expert (Welding) by Air Liquide.
Joe joined the Omniweld group in January 2007 in order to
live his passion through sharing his welding expertise, organizing and
delivering custom training sessions, developing and implementing advanced
welding solutions at customers, ... |
